Abstract

Intestinal functional disorders, including the irritable bowel syndrome, are a very frequent functional complaint. Pathophysiology includes disorders of digestive sensitivity and motility, and of personality. In the absence of highly specific clinical signs, colonoscopy remains very often the most important examination to eliminate an accompanying lesion polyp or malignant tumour.
