Abstract

Highlights A thin Co(OH)2 layer is inserted between AgNWs and PEDOT:PSS layer using a facile electrodepositing method and the AgNWs/Co(OH)2/PEDOT:PSS hybrid electrodes are proposed. The electrochemical stability of the AgNW FTE is improved by the PEDOT: PSS layer. The color-changing and energy storage performance of the AgNWs/PEDOT: PSS electrode is enhanced by the Co(OH)2 interlayer. A symmetrical flexible electrochromic energy storage device (FECESD) with good color-changing, energy-storage and cyclic bending performance is successfully fabricated, which shows a CE value of 269.80 cm2 C−1, an areal capacitance of 0.80 mF cm−2 and a negligible change in the performance after 1000 bending cycles.
