Abstract

The article discusses teaching and learning in health libraries in the U.S. It states that health librarians were introduced to major learning theories in educational planning to meet the needs of another set of library users who are said to be technology-savvy. It notes that health librarians understand that teaching programs and library workshops are awareness tools to promote the programs and services of the library. It mentions the three major adult learning theories; behaviourism, constructivism/cognitivism as well as situated-learning.
