Abstract

Illustrated descriptions and data on host plants and distribution of five Macropsidius species from European Russia and also, of M. dispar which was believed to be widespread throughout the Western half of Palaearctic are given. Oscillograms of male calling signals of four species are presented. M. serratus Logvinenko 1965 syn. n. and M. variabilis Mityaev 1971 syn. n. are synonymized with M. involutus Dlabola 1963. M. compactus is recorded in the territory of Russia for the first time. The range of M. dispar includes only Spain and southern France; records from other regions are apparently erroneous.
