Abstract
A working approach for the fully probabilistic assessment of wind loads for the equivalent static design of structures is described, which eliminates deficiencies in the current UK Code of Practice for wind loads. The consequences of adopting this approach to the collection of windspeed and loading data and to the future revision of wind loading codes are discussed. © 1979.
