Abstract

This chapter reviews anisotropy in rocks and distinguishes between its induced and inherent forms. After an examination of features and the nature of anisotropy, the influence of confining pressure and strength parameters are considered mathematically for both rock types, and finally rock mass analysis is detailed. -R.Gower
