Abstract

The article presents information on organizational structures. The article cites "The Structuring of Organizational Structures (1980)," by Stewart Ranson, Bob Hinings, Royston Greenwood, which aims at generating a more satisfactory framework for the analysis of organizational structure. In the article the authors give the example of how demographic changes must inevitably have some impact upon school roles with attendant reprucssions for structural arrangements. The article is critical of the research conducted by Ranson, Hinings, and Greenwood. It is suggested that the work by Anthony Giddens on organizational structure could have aided the researchers.
