A direct search of new diuretics among 4-methyl-7-chloro-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-6-sulfonamides.

Abstract

A series of novel 6-aminosulfonyl-7-chloro-4-methyl-1H-quinolin-2-ones (amino = H2N, Me2N, n-C6H13NH, PhNH, 4-BrC6H4NH, 2-furylmethylamino) was synthesized by amination of 7-chloro-4-methyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline-6-sulfonyl chloride with ammonia or the corresponding primary or secondary amines.
