Abstract

These systems were studied from their equilibrium phase diagrams and from solid-state reactions. The system MoO3-Ag2MoO4 shows 2 compds., Ag2Mo4O13 and Ag2Mo2O7, both with incongruent m.ps. Ag2MoO4 exists in 3 crystalline varieties. The systems MoO3-CuO and MoO3-ZnO form compds. of the type 2MoO3.3MO and MoO3.MO. MoO3.CuO exhibits 2 varieties, a and b; the b-phase is hexagonal with lattice parameters a 16.079 and c 6.723 A. 2MoO3.3CuO crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with lattice parameters a 14.842, b 14.648, and c 6.869 A. ZnMoO4 forms at 550° and Zn3Mo2O9 at 850°. The MoO3-CdO system forms CdMoO4, m. 1150°.
