Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Li-ion Cathode Materials Department of Materials, Parks Road, Oxford Grade 7: £32,817 – £40,322 p.a.
We are seeking outstanding candidates to work in the group of Professor Peter Bruce FRS, to investigate next generation Li-ion cathode materials and unlock their full potential through understanding the underlying processes in these new materials. You will have expertise in solid-state chemistry, electrochemistry, X-ray spectroscopy or structural characterisation and in a range of analytical techniques to investigate the structure and properties of materials and their interfaces.

You will have a first degree and a doctorate in a relevant area (or close to completion). You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, along with a strong record of research commensurate with experience.

The PDRAs will develop research objectives and proposals, plan, manage and carry out research in the area of Li-ion cathode materials. You will investigate novel materials and develop a fundamental understanding of their chemistry and electrochemistry. You will collaborate with colleagues in the group and the CATMAT/Faraday Institution community. For full details of the post and the selection criteria, please see the job description.

All applications must be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and a supporting statement as part of your application.

Interviews are scheduled to take place at the Department of Materials in late January 2020 and you must be available either by Skype or in person. Please note in normal circumstances only interview travel expenses within the UK will be reimbursed.
