Are you interested in working for a pioneering department within the University of Sheffield? We have an exciting opportunity in the Integrated Manufacturing Group (IMG) for someone with a passion for Data Science looking to use their skills in this field of work to make an impact on the delivery of projects within the IMG. You will work in a diverse, multi-skilled team with world-leading reputations in the Integrated Manufacturing Group. We transform industrial and economic performance by making step changes in productivity, increasing competitiveness, developing new products and processes and training new talent and skills. AMRC has over 100 industrial partners such as Boeing, Rolls-Royce, McLaren Automotive, BAE Systems and Airbus. We also work closely with smaller companies and are active in promoting research and innovation within small and medium-sized enterprises. You will use your data science skills and experience to develop and lead data-centric projects, helping to further the reputation of IMG and the AMRC. You will have a proven track record in leading data science projects that led to demonstrable impact. Working with stakeholders, both internal and external, you will assist the development and delivery of the AMRC's data science roadmap. Experience of working in collaborative University/Industry projects is desired but not essential, as is experience of securing grant funding. You will: • Have a good honours degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or another related quantitative field) • Hold or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant discipline (or have the equivalent experience). • Have strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills • Have experience in leading data science projects which resulted in demonstrable impact • Be a strong communicator, both written and verbally.
