engineering team. As a Java DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for helping us to develop and support the bank's strategic developer enablement & innovation platform. Your main responsibilities will be to: Innovate strategic solutions within the DevOps space with a focus on Continuous Delivery and Deployment Design and develop enterprise grade applications in Java using frameworks such as Grails and Spring Boot Customize and extend commercial and open source solutions by creating, for example, plugins for tools such as Atlassian, Jenkins, Gradle and Grails Identify opportunities for the application of machine learning and automation within the platform Develop and maintain strategic development platform with a view to improving scalability, reliability, performance and resilience Provide operational support for the Odyssey platform, with a view to automating and simplifying tasks Provide technical expertise for the community and collaborate with other engineering teams to across the bank Act as subject matter expert for the IT developer community and other stakeholders Review the platform and ensure the firm's mandatory obligations are met At least 5 years of experience in delivery of innovative software solutions Excellent enterprise application development background with a focus on Java Experience migrating enterprise grade solutions to cloud offerings Knowledge around building maintainable and automated tests with frameworks such as Junit, Mockito and Selenium Solid understanding installing, maintaining and monitoring Java applications on Linux Proficient skills debugging and performance tuning Linux based applications Strong capability to design highly available, scalable and resilient applications/architectures Experience with process automation using scripting languages such as Python and Bash Familiarity setting up large scale CI/CD pipelines Expertise in the software lifecycle and application development best practices Comprehensive knowledge around software development tools such as: Jira, Confluence, Git, SVN, and Artifactory Full competence of continuous integration servers such as TeamCity and Jenkins Expert aptitude working with containers and virtualization solutions Ability to partner with senior stakeholders both in the team and across the bank Dedicated self-starter with an ability to own, manage and deliver projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Nice to have: Grails, Groovy and other languages Configuration management tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef and Salt Maintaining a large application platform with a focus on availability and monitoring Maven/Gradle/MSBuild/cmake Apache/Tomcat Familiarity with agile methodologies Working within a globally distributed team
