Total compensation includes an incentive opportunity with the potential for significantly increased earnings.

Schedule of Work Hours:

Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Weekends as required.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes and manages trading strategies in natural gas and oil-related markets

  • Manages and coordinates the scheduling, purchasing, delivery and contractual requirements for natural gas and fuel oil for owned and managed facilities

  • Analyzes expected plant demand and burn rates, the pricing of energy alternatives, and assures the availability of natural gas and fuel oil to meet the day-to-day requirements

  • Supports the company's generation asset operation and energy sales initiative

  • Seeks opportunities to increase the value generating assets and minimize customer fuel cost

  • Provides financial, analytical and statistical support of various fuel initiatives involving natural gas as well as comparisons with other fuel sources

  • Recommends alternatives for various gas transportation, gas purchasing, and related projects

  • Reviews all invoices related to natural gas, fuel oil purchases, pipeline transportation, and any other natural gas and fuel oil related expenses

  • Proficient in PC spreadsheet and industry software applications

  • Establish and maintain professional business relationships with plant personnel, natural gas providers, pipeline transport providers, fuel oil vendors, and other vendors providing related products and services is essential

Education and Experience Requirements


  • Requires a bachelor's degree and three years of commodity trading, dispatch operations, contract negotiations, gas transport, or other related experience.

  • Proficient working knowledge of Risk Management principles and tools

  • Proficient ability to effectively trade both physical and financial instruments

  • Is actively sought out by others for guidance

  • Is a team orientated individual

  • Demonstrates leadership capabilities by positively influencing others

  • Has working knowledge and proven compliance history with all NERC/FERC rules and regulations as the related to natural gas trading

Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required


Must possess a valid driver's license.

Working Conditions


Normal office working conditions in an open area environment.

Must have satisfactory work record including good attendance.
