**Description:**

Working in a world-class organization known for their sustainability performance developing program elements to achieve and results consistent with the company's policy, procedures, goals, and government regulations. Additional responsibilities include: • Serve as the energy manager for Pratt & Whitney • Responsible for monitoring energy consumption and usage patterns within Pratt & Whitney and identifying areas where energy is wasted or used inefficiently. • Designing and implementing plans for optimizing energy use. • Increase organizational awareness of the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions, using renewable sources of energy and minimizing waste. • Provide guidance to the company regarding activities and projects necessary to attain environment goals. Will be responsible for consulting with sites on a global level on those projects and activities and developing and communicating best practices. • Develop and incorporate policies and practices into Pratt & Whitney operations that preserve natural resources, conserve energy, eliminate waste and emissions and lessen the overall environmental impact. • Develop solutions that allow the EH&S function to perform at a more efficient level including information technology and tools. • Analyze leading and lagging data to identify trends and proactively address issues. • Assist in ensuring that appropriate Leading Environmental metrics are developed to provide a proactive approach to measure efforts and that all required metrics are included in monthly communications to executive management. • Investigate alternate technology pathways to meet greenhouse gas, water, air emissions, and waste reduction goals. Work with Pratt &Whitney sites worldwide to identify most cost-effective opportunities to seat new technology and best practices. • Interfacing and supporting supply management (e.g., supplier forum, supplier sustainability award, supplier EH&S questionnaire support, etc.) • Interfacing with engineering (e.g., biofuels) • Interfacing with Human Resources on employee talent and retention opportunities, (e.g., Developing a Sustainability Focals program) • Developing education and training support • Providing liaison support on its overall sustainability program and the P&W Executive Sustainability Council • Supporting external interfaces as needed (e.g., presentations to conferences, etc). • Providing support on business case development and ACE Green programs • Ensure environmental initiates do not conflict with legal obligations. • Work with Communications team on developing our internal and external success stories. • Manage the Green Grant Award program to ensure the right projects are being funded to improve the environment and communities in which we do business. • Other activities as required

**Qualification:**

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a full time EH&S role. Proven ability to work in a team environment, and willingness to work in all aspects of EH&S. The following attributes are absolutely necessary: • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities • Ability to complete projects as assigned in a timely manner. • Strong organizational skill set. • Ability to communicate effectively with employees and all levels of management. • Ability to demonstrate a sense of urgency around maintaining a safe and efficient workplace. • Computer skills including Microsoft suite of programs.

**Education:**

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or Safety and 5 years experience

Masters' Degree and 3 years experience in Environment Health and Safety preferred.
